What Winterwing Butterfly Is Used For in Tears of the Kingdom
Winterwing Butterfly is a Material in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Specifically, it is classified as a Critter.
The Winterwing Butterfly was included in the Breath of the Wild version of the game. Most of its attributes are the same and therefore you may find similar uses as BotW.
Since the Winterwing Butterfly is a critter, it cannot be fused to weapons or arrows in any way. It is useful mainly for elixirs. Any recipes it is used in will be included at the end of this page. It is mainly used in cooking, and it can be used to give the meal a Chilly effect when used in the recipe.
When you add any Winterwing Butterfly to a meal when cooking, the resulting meal’s bonus effect will last 2 minutes, 30 seconds longer.
The Winterwing Butterfly can be turned in to trade for Blue dye in order to dye clothes. We have not yet confirmed if this is still the case in Tears of the Kingdom.
